What are your hours?

We’re here to serve you 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Why do I need a pet sitter or dog walker?

The reasons are as varied as the animals we care for.

For dog walking, first and foremost it provides necessary exercise for your animals.  With the busy schedule that many people have these days, they either don’t have the time to give their dogs proper exercise or they can’t get home in time from work to allow their dogs to get out and go when they gotta go.  Puppies and older dogs can’t always hold it, even on a shorter schedule.  We allow peace of mind and ease of bladder.  No more unfortunate accidents when you get home from work.  And well exercised dogs are often better behaved, less destructive, and happier and healthier.

Hiring a pet sitter gives you peace of mind that your animals are being well taken care, fed, watered and exercised, in the comfort of their own home.  Your animals will continue to be fed on their normal schedule, and any medications they need can be administered.  Litterboxes will be scooped and other general pet clean up is taken care of.

And with pet sitting you get so much more.  Your pet sitter will give your home that “lived in” look.  We’ll bring in the mail and alternate lights and blinds, making your house safer while you’re away.  We’ll also water your plants, take out the trash, all the things you would do yourself if you were home.   We’ll even call or email you with info on how your pets are doing if you’d like.

Are there any limitations on the kinds of dogs you walk?

No.  We’re comfortable handling all kinds and sizes of dogs, as long as they are friendly to people.  Often we’ll try and pair up dogs of the same size and termperment for healthy socialization, but if necessary we’ll walk your dog alone.

What vaccinations do my dogs need to have?

Rabies vaccinations are required by law for dogs and cats.  We can’t render any service until we have proof that these vaccinations are current.  Also, we’d recommend distemper and bordetella (kennel cough) before your dogs are socialized with other animals.

How are payments structured?

We take cash, checks, and all major credit cards.  Billing can be done on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, and we can work with you to find a schedule that fits your needs.  Payment can be left in the home, mailed, or charged over the phone.  We can even set up automated payments so that you never have to worry about it again.

How do you cancel a scheduled service?

Please give call us at least two hours before the time of your scheduled visit or you will be charged.

I’m afraid a half an hour of exercise may be too much for my dog.  Are there other options?

Some dogs, especially older dogs and dogs that are otherwise infirm either don’t need or shouldn’t have long intense exercise periods.  We offer a ten minute short walk at a reduced price as one option for these dogs.  During our normal half hour visit, there are many other things we can do for your dog.  After a short walk, your dog can derive great benefit from us simply spending time with them, doing whatever it is they enjoy doing.  Either way we will provide the love and affection they crave.

When I’m out of town, how many visits are recommended for my animal?

We recommend two visits at an absolute minimum for dogs.  Older dogs or young puppies may require more.  We will visit your animals up to four times a day while your gone.  For cats and other small animals we recommend a once a day visit, for feeding, cleaning, and all the other benefits your pet sitter brings to your home.

Will you still come for an appointment during bad weather?

Every possible effort will be made to keep all our regular visits, even during inclement weather.  Generally only very serious weather conditions, hurricanes or serious blizzards, may result in cancellations.  These will be posted to our website or you can call us for more information.
